Our Food Drives for HOPE Helps

HOPE Logo 2013

This year was another incredibly successful year for donations to HOPE, our local food drive, and the homeless outreach program. The volunteers at HOPE have worked tirelessly to aid more than 800 members of Seminole County, including 300 families that rely on their food drive. It was our privilege to host not one, but two, food drives for them. With the help of our neighbors in Live Oak Reserve last Fall and The Sanctuary this Spring, we were able to pride a combined total of 313 bags of food, which amounts to roughly 5,600 pounds of food.

The Spanish Honor Society of Hagerty High School was instrumental in our success. The students helped deliver and retrieve bags to each of the 1500 homes in both communities and joined us in delivering them to HOPE. We also worked with Denzil of PakMail, who kindly provided a truck and a few more hands from his family to help our team. Our other sponsor, Vicki and Clarissa at Synergy Mortgage, provided us with the thousands of bags that we delivered. We absolutely could not have achieved such a wonderful thing without these generous partners and the communities in Live Oak Reserve and Sanctuary. We look forward to our next food drive this fall in the Live Oak Reserve!
